FNAF 2 Game Review: Is Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 Still Scary Today?

Five Nights at Freddy's 2, often shortened to fnaf 2, was released in 2014 as the sequel to the original indie horror hit. Developed by Scott Cawthon, the game expanded the formula of the first title and quickly became one of the most talked about horror games of its time.

But years later, with modern horror games offering advanced graphics and cinematic storytelling, one big question remains: is FNAF 2 still scary today?

Gameplay Overview

FNAF 2 keeps the core structure of the series. You play as a night security guard inside Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, monitoring security cameras and defending yourself from hostile animatronics.

Unlike the first game, FNAF 2 removes the security doors and replaces them with new defensive tools:

The Freddy mask to fool animatronics
A flashlight to manage hallway threats
A Music Box that must be constantly wound to keep the Puppet calm

These added mechanics make the gameplay more active and intense compared to the original game.
